Leading With Heart: Creating People Centric Coworking & Flex Workspaces
I was delighted to be a guest on the Baseworx’s Flex That Worx podcast for an open and thoughtful conversation about what it really takes to create people-centric coworking and flexible workspaces.
Hosted by Graham Clarke and Anne-Marie Murphy, this episode goes beyond design trends and productivity metrics to explore the human realities of coworking leadership, the emotional load, the responsibility of holding space for others, and the importance of designing work around real life, not idealised expectations.
We talked about leading with heart while still setting boundaries, why clarity and structure can be supportive rather than restrictive, and how people-led workspaces are built through trust, care and everyday decisions not just policies or floor-plans.
The conversation draws on my lived experience as a coworking operator and coach, supporting micro business leaders and neighbourhood coworking operators who are often carrying far more than they let on.
