Benefits of Co-Working
Working in a business community has proven to be invaluable for our member businesses, some are home based and work here one day per week to benefit from the community environment and peace away from distractions in the home, some are travelling between Dublin and Belfast and need a base to stop off with a desk or meeting room, Wi-Fi and coffee!
Others are based here on a permanent basis with 24/7 access and there are also members who regularly use our meeting rooms to meet clients, hold workshops and carry out interviews.
The low cost, monthly membership with no other hidden extras gives your business the flexibility to expand and take on new members of staff, or perhaps improve your technology or simply keep your overheads down. There’s an equal balance of age groups as well as male: female members as well as various nationalities and a truly cosmopolitan feel. A fantastic sharing of ideas, contacts, referrals and just a great buzz around the office.

What was the inspiration to starting the business? Why do what you do?
We’ve experienced first-hand the lack of a community network that often goes hand and hand with self- employment and have embraced the concept of collaborative working establishing the Hub Newry in 2012.

What do residents enjoy most about The Hub?
Vibrancy, collaboration, sustainability and the constant community as well as building opportunities and contacts for other business start-ups. Sharing ideas, projects, experiences, expertise as well as passing contacts, referrals and constructive criticism!
Members & the Hub team enjoy mentoring & supporting those with new businesses & innovative & creative business ideas by building a network of support, clients, contacts and suggesting strategies to help this happen.

Awards, Articles & Hopes for the Future
Featured in the local press & previously featured in “The Northern Ireland Magazine” as a sustainable design & build workspace such is the unique nature of the design, concept and the fit-out being based on upcycled and re-used construction materials. In September 2015 won “Best Premises” in the 2015 Greater Newry Area Business Awards.
The Hub Newry is very community driven & also a big champion of green ethics, sustainability & culture for which we’ve recently been awarded the “Gold” certification by Green Tourism UK. Being very involved in community initiatives for both local businesses & social groups we’re also really keen to participate in wider geographical areas with other co-working groups, businesses & community groups both Irish, UK & European.

We were delighted to be on the “Speakers Panel” of the European Co-Working Conference in Milan November 2015 & to be able to bring these topics to the table.
We’d love to hear about your thoughts, stories, projects & any messages you’d like us to take along. If you have any questions, would like to pop in & see the facilities & have a nosey then please get in touch!
